The Ceremony Under Sail Package
From St. Michaels harbor, the trip lasts two hours, and we can accommodate up to six passengers including the bride and groom. Weather permitting, the boat wedding is performed under sail. Perfect for a boat elopement our officiants offer a range of ceremonies from traditional to alternative, or your family pastor is welcome to come aboard and perform the wedding. The fee includes the 2 hour sail, boat decorations, Maryland State amusement tax, officiant fee, a customized ceremony, crew gratuity, and a Champagne toast for up to 6 guests.

The Wharf-Side Wedding Package
For couples who want to share their day with a larger group of family and friends, Selina II can fit up to 12 guests aboard (including the Bride & Groom) during the service with up to 50 guests watching from the dock. After the service, you can share an optional Champagne toast, and then take a post-ceremony sail with up to six guests for an hour before joining your other guests at a reception at a local restaurant of your choice.

Sometimes we get asked “Can a boat captain marry you?” and the answer is ‘it depends’.  If Capt Iris is aboard she is also an ordained minister and can legally marry couples in Talbot County Maryland.  Otherwise Rev Bonnie presides. The Reverend gets rave reviews and is also an official Maryland wedding officiant for Sail Selina cruise elopement packages.

Another question we get asked when couples are looking for a wedding boat rental near me is ‘What to wear on a wedding on a yacht?’  Same as what you would wear to any wedding, but sometimes people add a nautical motif to their outfits so we see dressy boat shoes, sea shell themed jewelry, accessories with anchors, etc. Choose from formal tuxedos and classic wedding dresses to Hawaiian print shirts and flip flops. It your day, it’s your way!

You will need to have a Marriage License from the Talbot County court house located in Easton.  You can get this in person or by mail, but it must be in your possession at least 2 days before the ceremony. The license is valid 48 hours after you apply, and you must be married in Talbot County.  You can look at the county’s web site here:

Also, many people as about weather. In the event of bad weather we can either put up an awning and go ahead as planned, or we can below decks still tied to the dock, or if it is really nasty we can make arrangements to use a closed in porch overlooking the water at a near by Inn. Otherwise we can reschedule for the next day assuming you will still be in town in the morning.

• Comfortable Seating: Sturdy Double Settees on either side of the ship’s wheel offer seating on cushions for 2 big people. Or sit in our vintage captains chairs with cloth seats located on the cockpit sole for seats that offer back support.  All seating offers good visibility from the cockpit area where you will be sitting.  Occasionally guests ask to go forward and sit on the hard cabin top. You are welcome to do so if you have good balance, are sure footed, and can hold a hand rail.
• Children: We love kids! We have infant, toddler, and youth life jackets to fit all sizes and ages. The U.S. Coast Guard considers all children (regardless of how small they are or what age they are) to be passengers, and as such, you need to count them in, too. For example, mom, dad, and their six-month-old are three guests, not two.
• Safety: Sail Selina II is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, with all modern safety features (life jackets, VHF etc) tastefully concealed to honor her historic legacy. Foul weather gear is available in the event of unexpected bad weather.

• Toilet: Yes, we have a very clean marine head onboard for your convenience; however, it is limited and located down four steps. To ensure your maximum comfort during your journey, we recommend you make use of the shore-side facilities inside the Harbour Inn before embarking.
